Kentucky State Police are investigating after a man was seriously injured in an officer-involved shooting early Thursday morning in Trigg County.
Trooper Adam Jones says it happened about 12:30 a.m. at a location on Gold Dust Trail in the Rockcastle community.
Sheriff Aaron Acree says a deputy was attempting to locate a wanted person at the location and that man became combative once approached by police. He says the suspect picked up a 2×4 piece of wood and attempted to hit the deputy and that’s when the deputy fired his weapon, striking the suspect.
The suspect was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where his condition was unknown.
Names of the suspect and deputy have not been released.
