Todd County HD partnering to vaccinate migrant workers, students

The Todd County Health Department is partnering with the extension office and school system to provide COVID-19 vaccines to migrant workers and to children who recently became eligible for the Pfizer shot.

Public Health Director Jen Harris says the extension office has coordinated with local farmers and they’ve vaccinated many migrant workers already.

The Pfizer vaccine was approved for anyone 12 and up this week and Harris says parents can sign a consent form and submit it to their school nurse or fax or email.

She hopes to give first doses to students whose parents sign the form by the end of the school year.

Harris says Todd County residents should be on the lookout for a mailer they’ll receive in the coming days that will provide additional information on the vaccines.

There will be an evening clinic from 4 until 7:30 at the Todd County Health Department and community clinics will be held May 25 in Allensville and Fairview; May 26 in North Todd County; and May 27 in Guthrie.

Appointments can be made for vaccines in Todd County by calling 270-265-2362.
