UPDATED: Three injured, one flown to Nashville hospital, after Pembroke Rd. crash

Details have been released on a fiery, three-vehicle accident on Pembroke Road from Wednesday afternoon that sent three people to the hospital.

The collision report from Hopkinsville police says 18-year old Daja Myers of Hopkinsville was southbound on Pembroke Road near Casky Lane when her car veered into oncoming traffic and struck a northbound van driven by 70-year old Robert Bronaugh of Hopkisnville in the front driver’s side.

Myers’ car also struck a trailer being pulled by a pickup driven by 53-year old Kevin Grant of Hopkinsville.

Myers’ vehicle caught fire and was destroyed, but she and her passenger—42-year old Antwan Teal of Clarksville—were able to exit the vehicle. They were both taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for multiple, non-life-threatening injuries.

Bronaugh was trapped in his van and had to be extricated by the Hopkinsville Fire Department.

He was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville with a broken leg.

Grant had cuts on his arm, but declined a trip to the hospital.

The report says excessive speed on Myers’ part was likely a factor in the crash.
