Paul Goldschmidt hit a go-ahead two-run blast in the top of the 11th inning in St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 11 inning win over the Brewers in Milwaukee. Four batters later, Tyler O’Neill followed up with a three-run blast of his own. St. Louis won its fourth straight game. The series continues tonight.

The Chicago Cubs pounded out 11 hits in a 3-2 loss to the Cleveland Indians. The Cubs and Indians wrap up the two-game set today.
The Atlanta Braves fail to slow down the Blue Jays as Toronto rallies back to a 5-3 win. Ronald Acuña Jr. hit his major league-leading 11th homer for Atlanta in the third and Marcell Ozuna went long in the sixth before the Jays battled back. A.J. Minter took the loss. The two continue the series again tonight.
One of the new faces of baseball has tested positive for COVID. Fernando Tatis Junior is reportedly asymptomatic, but will fly back from Denver where the San Diego Padres are playing the Colorado Rockies. The San Diego shortstop must test negative for the coronavirus before getting cleared to return to active play. Two other players — Jurickson Profar and Jorge Mateo — will join Tatis on the injured list due to contact tracing.
Major League Baseball is giving the green light for the Oakland Athletics to look for a new home. ESPN reports the announcement could put pressure on Oakland officials to get a new stadium project moving after years in limbo. A waterfront mixed-use development proposal with a new stadium in Oakland is on the table, but franchise owner John Fisher says they will also follow the league’s direction to explore other markets.
