Judge believes Fort Campbell vaccinations aren’t reported in state data

The governor’s office continues to show Christian County as last in the state for vaccination rate, but Judge-Executive Steve Tribble believes shots administered to those living on the Kentucky side of Fort Campbell aren’t being properly counted.

Addressing Christian Fiscal Court Tuesday morning, Judge Tribble said local leaders are trying to work with state and post officials to get those vaccinations on Fort Campbell recognized in the state system.

He recounted a conversation where Governor Beshear reportedly advised against counties hosting large gatherings or festivals if their vaccination rate is below 20 percent, which could be concerning for Christian County at a reported 17 percent.

Meanwhile, Mac Major with Higgins Insurance reported county employee health insurance claims have not been extraordinarily high this fiscal year and the self-insured program remains in good enough fiscal condition that he did not recommend an increase in contribution for fiscal court or for premiums for county employees.

Magistrates also renewed the lease agreement with the Kentucky Association of Counties for its sheriff’s office vehicle replacement program.
