Christian County led Hopkinsville 2-1 at the end of the first inning Saturday morning at Lady Tiger Field, but erupted for 18 runs in its next two at bats to win 20-3. The Lady Colonels used 11 hits and 11 walks in getting the win. Reni Shemwell hit a grand slam home run and Tenley Gilbert hit a three run blast as Riley Hancock got the pitching win.
Hopkinsville had only three hits which included a home run from Morgan Hodge and doubles from Kaitlyn Kaetzel and Anna Hodge. Hannah Thorson took the pitching loss. Christian County improved to 15-4 and 2-0 in district play while Hopkinsville goes to 3-8 and 1-1 in the district.
