A woman is in a Nashville hospital after she was shot Thursday night on North Elm Street.
Hopkinsville police say 26-year old Marka Smith of Owensboro was in an argument with another individual at a location in the 100 block of North Elm Street about 10:45 p.m. when she was shot with a handgun.
Smith was taken by EMS to a helicopter and flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Sgt. Martin Lopez said it was unknown if her injuries are life-threatening.
No arrest had been made and the investigation continues.
