The Christian County Public School System has been approved by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the U.S. Department of Labor as meeting the standards and requirements for a registered apprenticeship program.
According to a news release from CCPS Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, the standards are met under the standards and requirements for a registered apprenticeship program under the Code of Federal Regulations and Kentucky Revised Statutes. CCPS is one of eleven Kentucky school districts with an approved registered apprenticeship program and this allows the district to sponsor apprenticeship programs for junior and senior students.
A program will be launched with a youth apprenticeship in the food services department and will continue to expand the program to its technology, transportation, and maintenance departments.
