Enhanced risk for severe weather overnight tonight, early Tuesday morning

There is an enhanced risk for severe weather Monday night and early Tuesday morning for Western Kentucky and northern Middle Tennessee.

Derrick Snyder with the National Weather Service in Paducah says the primary threats with any storms that develop will be damaging winds and large hail—though an isolated tornado will be possible.

He says it’s a good time to be sure you have a way to receive weather warnings overnight when you are sleeping.

A few storms are also possible Monday afternoon, though not as likely as during the nighttime hours.

There will be another chance for severe weather Tuesday afternoon, especially in the Pennyrile region of Western Kentucky.
