Malathaat wins Kentucky Oaks, Kentucky Derby runs today

Trainer Todd Pletcher is back in the Kentucky Oaks winner’s circle as morning line favorite Malathaat got Pletcher his first garland of lillies in eight years Friday, crossing under the wire a neck ahead of Search Results and two lengths ahead of third place finisher Will’s Secret. The Oaks ran before a crowd of more than 41-thousand people due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The 147th Kentucky Derby will take place beginning at 5:50 Central time this afternoon, with Essential Quality the morning line favorite.
