Ky. gains 796 COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 796 new cases of COVID-19 and the number of vaccinated Kentuckians is slowly growing.

Approximately 1.75 million Kentuckians have now gotten at least the first dose of a COVID vaccine, and the governor says that’s good but the pace needs to pick up.  He says the sooner more people get vaccinated, the sooner things can safely return to normal.

Ten more people have died due to coronavirus in the state, along with two deaths identified in the ongoing audit of the state reporting system.  The positivity rate is now at 3.12 percent.

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 1,092 new cases of COVID-19, along with 17 deaths—the positivity rate in the Volunteer State is down to 4.91 percent.
