Coroner says it appears inmate died from natural causes

Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel says it appears the inmate found dead in her cell Wednesday morning at the Christian County Jail died from natural causes.

While the final report from the Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville will have the exact cause of death for 46-year old Danielle Sanders of Hopkinsville, Daniel says initial indications are that she died from natural causes.

As previously reported, other inmates notified deputy jailers that Sanders was unresponsive in her cell about 5 a.m. Wednesday and it was believed she died in her sleep.

The Christian County Coroner’s Office and Kentucky State Police are investigating.
