Ky. adds 747 COVID-19 cases, nine deaths

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 747 new cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth and that the positivity rate is continuing to decline.

The positivity rate is now at 3.11 percent—he also reported nine new deaths and none from the ongoing audit of the state reporting system, bringing the death toll to 6,485.  There are currently 434 Kentuckians in the hospital due to coronavirus, 119 in the ICU and 59 on a ventilator.

Today, the Governor requested federal funding to assist 26 more counties severely impacted by flooding, including Todd and Caldwell counties, during the February 27 to March 14 flooding events caused by snow and ice and then followed by heavy rain.

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 1,134 new cases of COVID-19 there, along with 8 new deaths—the positivity rate in the Volunteer State is down to 5.34 percent.
