Investigation is underway after a female inmate was found deceased in the Christian County Jail early Wednesday morning.
According to a news release from Jailer Brad Boyd, just before 5 a.m. jail staff were informed by female inmates that a woman in their cell was unresponsive. Jail deputies immediately responded and discovered 46-year old Danielle Sanders of Hopkinsville had reportedly died in her sleep. Kentucky State Police and the Christian County Coroner were contacted, with both investigating the incident. An autopsy is set to be performed at the state medical examiner’s office to determine a cause of death.
Sanders had been arrested on April 21 on drug possession charges and she had been scheduled to appear in court on May 3.
