A Crofton Elementary School student is celebrating breaking a local record for rodeo competition Sunday.
According to a news release from CCPS Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, 12-year old Ava Boyd, a sixth-grader at Crofton Elementary, broke the Branham Farms Arena record for the Pole Bending Race at the Kentucky High School Rodeo competition in Scottsville.
Ava and her horse Cupcake ran a 19.41, beating the previous arena record held by Katie Pride Barks of 19.519.
Ava is the daughter of David and Jessica Boyd.
