Motorcyclist dies, hit-and-run suspect charged with vehicular homicide

A motorcyclist who was severely injured in a Clarksville collision Sunday night has died from his injuries and the other driver involved is facing multiple charges.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, the motorcyclist has been identified as 55-year old Dwight Carter. He had been transported to a local hospital around 7 p.m. Sunday after the collision between his motorcycle and a truck occurred on Providence Boulevard near Market Street.

The driver of the truck that fled the scene has been identified as 63-year old Stanley Cliff, and police have charged him with vehicular homicide, aggravated assault, leaving the scene with death, leaving the scene with damage, reckless endangerment, failure to yield causing death and traffic violations.
