The man accused of stabbing his step-father numerous times during a domestic disturbance in Elkton in February has been indicted by a Todd County Grand Jury.
The indictment is for one count of first-degree assault (domestic violence).
Elkton police were called to 107 Morningside Drive February 3 regarding a domestic altercation in progress and were talking to the caller outside when officers heard sounds of another altercation inside.
A police report says they found 37-year old Robert Larue on top of his stepfather, 68-year old Phillip Whittaker, on a bed. He allegedly had a knife in his hand and was brandishing it above his head as if in the middle of a stabbing motion.
Whittaker was covered in blood beneath him and Larue followed commands from officers to put the knife down, according to the report.
Whittaker had to be treated at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Larue remains in the Todd County Jail.
