CCHS junior chosen for Governor’s School of the Arts, two other local students as alternates

Christian County High School junior Joseph Anderson has been selected to be a member of the 2021 Governor’s School for the Arts.

According to a news release from CCPS Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, Anderson was chosen for the Instrumental Music discipline, specifically for percussion.  Also, fellow CCHS junior Levi Mitchell and Hopkinsville High School junior Nicholas Laramee were selected as Alternates in the Instrumental Music discipline.

GSA Scholar’s learn from distinguished teachers, create with fellow gifted students, and experience college residential life at the University of Kentucky from June 27 through July 17.

Over 1,200 students from across the Commonwealth applied for the 2021 program, which is highly competitive due to limited spots being up for grabs.
