Man arrested for allegedly setting Oak Grove fire that injured wife

An Oak Grove man has been arrested for allegedly setting the mobile home fire Sunday night on Zackary Street that critically injured his wife.

An arrest warrant from Oak Grove police for 50-year old Charles Smalls of Oak Grove says following an argument with his wife, Smalls allegedly poured lighter fluid in the vicinity of her door and set it on fire.

Smalls got out of the structure safely, leaving his wife behind.

The victim, whose name is not listed on the warrant, was rescued by Pembroke fire and Oak Grove police crews and the warrant says she is in critical condition with severe burns at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Smalls is lodged in the Christian County Jail, charged with first-degree arson with a $250,000 bond.
