Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 609 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, along with a slight increase to the positivity rate.
According to a news release, the positivity rate is now at 3.44 percent, with Governor Beshear urging people to get the vaccine, saying, “As our case numbers seem to be plateauing, it’s more important than ever for us to make sure our vaccination numbers are rising consistently. Let’s meet our 2.5 million vaccine Team Kentucky Vaccination Challenge so we can get back to more of the activities we enjoy and keep ourselves, our families and our communities safe.”
He also reported seven newly reported deaths, along with six deaths identified in the ongoing audit, putting the COVID-19 related death toll at 6,360. Nearly 1.7 million people have received at least the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Tennessee Department of Health reported 721 new cases of COVID-19, along with 15 deaths—the positivity rate in the Volunteer State is currently 5.97 percent.
