A Heritage Christian Academy student is one of 120 across Kentucky to be selected to the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs.
The governor’s office says it’s a highly competitive summer program where Kentucky high school students focus on product innovation and business model design.
Participants are selected through a competitive process that does not consider GPA or test scores, and the experience is free for all participants. The application is structured to identify creative problem-solvers, according to a news release.
HCA junior Weston Powell was chosen and is the lone student from Christian County who will participate in one of two sessions this summer.
Muhlenberg County High School sophomore Hannah Rager and Caldwell County High School sophomore Rachel McClung were also selected.
During the program, teams of students develop a business model, design a prototype and pitch their startups to a panel of judges.
