Woman injured, several families displaced after two Oak Grove fires

A woman was seriously injured and at least eight families are displaced from their homes following a pair of fires overnight in Oak Grove.

The first was at a mobile home Sunday night on Zackary Street and Oak Grove Fire Captain Parker Cibene says police and fire were able to rescue the woman who would be flown to a Nashville hospital.

Firefighters were called to a fire at an apartment building at 175 Mandarin Drive at about 2:50 a.m. and while everyone got out of the structure uninjured, Captain Cibene says at least seven families will have to find somewhere else to stay due to fire, smoke and water damage.

Fire Chief Bill Johnson says in all, 10 adults and three children are displaced. He says the initial report was the fire started with unattended cooking on a stove and it’s believed to be accidental in nature.

Pembroke firefighters assisted at both scenes, Fort Campbell FD assisted on Mandarin Drive and the American Red Cross is assisting all of the displaced residents.
