MLB Roundup

The Atlanta Braves finally won a game in their series with the Miami Marlins, taking the series finale Thursday 7-6 thanks to an RBI single in the ninth by Dansby Swanson. The Braves open a weekend series at the Chicago Cubs this afternoon.

Following an off day, the Cincinnati Reds open a weekend, interleague series hosting the Cleveland Indians at Great American Ballpark. Pregame coverage begins at 5:40 this evening on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

The St. Louis Cardinals are also on the road this weekend, beginning a series tonight at the Philadelphia Phillies.

Chicago Cubs reliever Ryan Tepera and manager David Ross are both being suspended and fined by MLB. Tepera’s is a three-game suspension that he has elected to appeal, while Ross’ is one game. The punishments were handed down after the league determined Tepera intentionally threw a pitch at Milwaukee Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff during the fifth inning of the Cubs’ 3-2 win Tuesday in Milwaukee. Ross will serve his suspension today.
