A man was arrested following a shots fired incident Tuesday morning in Elkton.
Elkton Police Chief Robert Toombs says officers responded to shots fired at 204 College Street about 11:30 a.m. and determined 38-year old Wesley Nightwine had been in an altercation with his wife when he allegedly fired seven shots into his wife’s unoccupied vehicle.
Nightwine had fled the scene toward Clarksville and officers there later located and arrested him.
He was lodged in the Montgomery County Jail, awaiting extradition back to Kentucky for wanton endangerment and fourth-degree domestic assault.
Elkton police were assisted by the Todd County Sheriff’s Office and the Clarksville Police Department.
