Emergency dispatchers honored with week set aside for them

This is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and Christian County Sheriff Tyler DeArmond says it wouldn’t be possible for first responders to do their jobs without the hard work of dispatchers.

Sheriff DeArmond says dispatchers are the lifeline between the caller experiencing an emergency and the police, fire and EMS crews who respond.

He’s glad there’s a week each year to honor those dispatchers.

Other local and state emergency responder agencies across the region have also been using social media and other means to express their gratitude to emergency dispatchers during their week.
