Nolan Arenado’ eighth-inning two-run home run lifted the St. Louis Cardinals to a 3-1 home opening win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Arenado’s homer was his second in a St. Louis uniform but his first in front of the Busch Stadium crowd. Tyler O’Neill tied the game in the 7th with an RBI single and Giovanny Gallegos earned the win out of the pen. The series continues tomorrow.

Javy Baez belted a go-ahead two-run homer in the sixth inning as the Chicago Cubs doubled up the Pirates 4-2 in Pittsburgh. Anthony Rizzo added a solo shot in the eighth, while Kris Bryant’s second homer of the season got the scoring going in the first for Chicago. Jake Arrieta tossed six innings of two-run ball for his second win and Craig Kimbrel got the final five outs for his second save. The series continues tomorrow.

The Cincinnati Reds are going for their sixth straight win tonight when they take on the Diamondbacks in Arizona. The Reds will face an Arizona team that has lost five of their first seven.
