Christian County picked up its first win of the season Friday, downing University Heights 17-2 in 6 innings at Chris Simmons Field. The Colonels scored in every inning but the first with Patrick Liddell going 3-3 with a double and three RBI. Starting and winning pitcher Elijah Underhill also had two hits and three RBI and struck out nine on the bump.
Ty Hunt went 1-2 for UHA with a two run single to drive home the Blazers only runs. Ian Tyler took the pitching loss. Christian County is now 1-5/1-1 in 8th district play while University Heights fell to 4-4/3-1 in the district. The Colonels return to action Monday at Calloway County while the Blazers host Murray Saturday at noon.
