Hopkinsville man arrested for DUI, wanton endangerment

A Hopkinsville man was recently arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office following an accident and shots fired call.

Deputies were notified of an accident in the Greenville Road area Thursday night and made contact with 52-year old Robert Wagner. Witnesses said Wagner had fired a gun into the air near a residential area of Cave Street prior to the crash.

A news release says Wagner had an odor of alcohol coming from his person, his speech was slurred and his eyes were red and glassy.

A handgun was seized from Wagner and it was a preliminary match to a shell casing found on scene.

Wagner was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, DUI and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
