Kachelle Isbell, the woman charged with murder in the Saturday morning shooting death of Anthony Johnson, was arraigned in Christian District Court Monday.
Isbell appeared virtually before Christian District Judge Foster Cotthoff, who entered a not guilty plea on her behalf and set a preliminary hearing for April 12 at 1 p.m.
Public defender Olivia Adams asked for a chance to request a bond reduction, but Judge Cotthoff says it will stay at $100,000 at least for now, due to the severity of the charges.
As previously reported, Hopkinsville police responded to 1504 College Street a few minutes before 1 a.m. April 3 and found 33-year old Anthony Johnson of Waddell Circle with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was transported by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel.
An arrest citation for Isbell says she was at the scene with a .38 caliber pistol when police arrived and she allegedly admitted to shooting Johnson, who was her ex-boyfriend.
