Two arrested following Hopkins Co. pursuit

Kentucky State Police arrested two Evansville men Friday following a vehicle pursuit in Hopkins County.

According to a news release, a trooper patrolling in the area of the 30 mile marker of the Pennyrile Parkway when he initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that was allegedly speeding in the area.  The vehicle initially stopped but then reported accelerated again at a high rate of speed.  The pursuit continued for several miles before exiting to Hanson, and then reentered I-69.

A tire deflation device was deployed near the 79 mile marker, where the pursuit came to a stop.  Twenty-three year old Destin Svetska of Evansville was arrested for fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, wanton endangerment and multiple traffic options.

A passenger in the vehicle, 25-year old Isiah Fellows of Evansville, was charged with public intoxication.  Both were lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
