Hopkinsville man arrested for allegedly having trailer stolen in Central City

A Hopkinsville man was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly being in possession of a stolen trailer.

Central City police contacted HPD regarding an enclosed trailer stolen there and they’d received information that it may be in Hopkinsville.

Officers located the trailer and pickup truck that was seen pulling it in video surveillance at a home in the 100 block of Koffman Drive and they made contact with 42-year old Jason Morse of Hopkinsville.

Morse claimed he’d purchased the trailer for $500, but the arrest citation says he didn’t have any documentation.

The serial number on the trailer had been covered and identifying stickers on the pickup had also been removed, according to the report.

The owner of the trailer was called and he came to retrieve it.

Morse was arrested and charged with felony receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence.
