Hopkinsville Electric System will have a planned power outage Thursday night to allow for upgrade work to be conducted.
Beginning at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, HES will be performing system upgrades that will require a power outage in the South Campbell, South Main, South Virginia, and South Walnut Street areas.
Beginning at 10:30 PM, the entire area will lose power.
By around 11:30 PM, power will be restored to a vast majority of the area, with the exception of a portions of East 14th and South Virginia Street and the immediate surroundings. That small portion of the outage will remain without power until approximately 2:30 a.m. Friday.
HES says it regrets the outages, but the work is necessary.
