Planters Bank gives cash to local organizations through Season of Giving campaign

Planters Bank through its annual Season of Giving recently gave almost $89,000 to 12 area organizations heavily impacted by the pandemic.

A news release says $60,000 of those funds came from the bank’s commitment of a $5,000 donation to each organization before their fundraising effort began.  The nearly $30,000 additional donations were raised throughout the Season of Giving was a direct result of community support.

Planters Bank worked with local small businesses to produce two special custom gift items—one Kentucky gift and one Tennessee gift, sold in each Planters Bank branch.  Planters Bank purchased the items from the businesses, allowing 100 percent of the purchase price of those items to be donated to the Season of Giving organizations.

The gift tins were filled with a “Scent of the Season” candle and a custom designed flour sack towel.  The candle was produced by Clarksville Candle Company, and the designs on the items were hand-drawn and produced by Williams Advertising.

The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville received about $7,800, Pennyrile Forest State Park got just under $6,300, the Pennyroyal Arts Council was presented with about $8,100 and the Hopkinsville Convention and Visitors Bureau got just over $10,000.
