NHL

Rocco Grimaldi scored four goals in a 7-1 Nashville Predators win over the Detroit Red Wings last night at Bridgestone Arena. The Preds won their third in-a-row to climb to 16-17-and-1. They play tomorrow night and Sunday in Chicago.

NBA

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies begin a two game-two day series at the Utah Jazz tonight. Memphis has won three games in a row heading into the series.

Horse Racing

Kentucky Derby tickets go on sale today. COVID precautions and restrictions will be in place for both the Derby and Kentucky Oaks. All seats this year are all inclusive, meaning they include both drinks and food so people don’t have to stand in line or exchange money. The Oaks takes place April 30th with the Derby on May 1st.

Golf

Louisville area native Justin Thomas lost 2 and 1 to Kevin Kisner in the second round of the WGC-Dell Match Play Championship Thursday in Austin Texas. Thomas will play in the third round today against Louis Oosthuizen.

Princeton’s Emma Talley had a one over 73 Thursday at the LPGA Tour’s Kia Classic in Carlsbad, CA. Inbee Park leads at six under 66. In making her return to the LPGA Tour, Michelle Wie West had a nine over par 81.

MLB

Gio Gonzalez is hanging up his cleats. The left-hander announced on Instagram his retirement after pitching 13 seasons in the majors with the Washington Nationals, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland A’s, and Chicago White Sox. The two-time All-Star pitched in five postseasons with Washington and Milwaukee, and led the National League with 21 wins in 2012 with the Nationals.
