Madisonville trailed Christian County 21-20 at the half but used a 17-8 third quarter run in defeating the Lady Colonels 46-42 in quarterfinal action last night. The Lady Maroons got 13 points each from Destiny Whitsell and Lillie Carmen in improving to 6-9 while Trinity McGee and Anaysia Bagwell each had eight points for the Lady Colonels who conclude the season 6-10.
Madisonville will face Henderson County in semifinal action Saturday afternoon at Hopkins Central. The Henderson County-Livingston Central game was canceled just before tipoff due to Covid protocol involving Livingston Central.
In the other quarterfinal game played Union County downed Trigg County 36-17 and will face Hopkinsville in the first semifinal game Friday night at Hopkins Central.
