Former Hopkinsville City Council member Mary Edith Sivley dies

Former Hopkinsville City Council member Mary Edith Sivley has died.

An obituary from Hughart, Beard and Giles Funeral Home says services for the 89-year old Sivley will be private.

She served on council during the administration of former Mayor Wally Bryan and was appointed by former Mayor Rich Liebe as the first chair of the Hopkinsville Solid Waste Enterprise.

Liebe remembered Sivley as a “fine lady” and noted she was very dedicated and involved with city projects in many ways over the years.
