University Heights nearly blew a 16 point second half lead, but held off a late charge from Crittenden County in winning 80-79. The Blazers had five players in double figure scoring led by Will Bryan’s 23 points, KJ Crump added 15, Amani McGee and Gavin Grubbs each with 13 and DJ Quarles with 10 in improving to 13-9. Crittenden County got 31 points from Preston Turley as the Rockets conclude the season 13-10.
University Heights will meet Henderson County in semifinal action Wednesday night in Madisonville after the Colonels downed Caldwell County 71-56. Tipoff is at 6:30.
