Woman hurt in shooting on Kenwood Drive, one arrested

The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating after a woman was shot in the arm on Kenwood Drive Monday.

According to HPD Public Information Officer Mike Atkins, 36-year old Kim Harrell was shot in the left arm below the elbow around 11:15 a.m. in the 2000 block of Kenwood. She was taken by helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment.  Later in the day, an arrest warrant for first-degree assault was served against 35-year old Shequita Buckner of  Hopkinsville, alleging she intentionally used a handgun to shoot Harrell in the arm.

Buckner was lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
