Captain D’s in Clarksville damaged in fire

No one was injured in a fire at the Captain D’s on the Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in Clarksville Sunday, but the building was badly damaged.

Wilma Rudolph was shut down for several hours while firefighters worked to put out the blaze, which was brought under control around 3 p.m. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Fire investigators were able to look at the video footage from the Taco Bell next door and determined there was a fire in the mulch outside of Captain D’s, and the employees thought that they extinguished the fire with water. They went back inside and went back to work. Smoke later filled the building, and then they evacuated everyone and called 9-1-1.
