Three killed, others seriously injured in McClean Co. multi-vehicle collision

Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision in McClean County Thursday, and Kentucky State Police are investigating.

According to a news release, the collision occurred on KY 81 about four miles north of Calhoun, with investigation determining that a vehicle operated by 35-year old Joshua Fox of Hopkinsville was travelling north when he crossed the center line for an unknown reason.  His vehicle sideswiped a southbound dump truck driven by 53-year old Brian Korb of Dawson Springs, and then veered further into that lane, striking another vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle, 24-year old Dylan Howard of Calhoun, was flown to Saint Vincent Hospital, where his condition is unknown.  Two passengers in his vehicle, 23-year old Shawna Rodney and three-year old Emberlyn Howard, both of Calhoun, were pronounced dead at the scene. Another juvenile passenger was flown to Norton Hospital in Louisville.

Fox was also pronounced dead at the scene by the McClean County Coroner.

Korb, the driver of the dump truck, was not injured but was charged with driving under the influence.  The investigation is ongoing.
