Heritage Christian Academy headmaster set to retire at end of school year

The long-time headmaster of Heritage Christian Academy, Linda Garris, has announced she will be retiring at the end of this school year.

According to a news release, Garris has been serving HCA in some capacity since 1997, starting as a teacher, coaching the school’s softball team and becoming headmaster in 2004.  During her time as headmaster, she has guided the school through three accreditations and seen it become the largest Christian school in western Kentucky.

Garris calls retirement bittersweet, saying, “While I look forward to spending more time with my family, I will miss my HCA family.  I have made some great friends during my time here.  My life has been truly blessed by being a part of the Heritage family.  ‘Once a Warrior, always a Warrior.’”

She intends to spend her retirement traveling and spending time with her family and HCA will host an Open House Retirement Celebration for her on May 6, from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.
