71st Rotary Auction will be in-person, diner to be open

The 71st WHOP Rotary Radio Auction is one month away and unlike last year, it will be an in-person event.

Cody Noffsinger is this year’s auction chair and says this year’s auction will be April 19-24 at the War Memorial Building and the theme is “Building the Foundation.”

He confirmed Thursday morning on WHOP that the plan has been approved by local health officials for the auction to have spectators and the always popular diner open again.

While capacity at the diner will be reduced this year inside the Memorial Building, Noffsinger says there will be an outdoor dining option to accommodate the crowd.

Noffsinger says they are still accepting table sponsorships at $200 each and the best way to support the auction is to make a cash donation to the Hour Club.

All money raised goes to programs to help local youth, including the Rotary Scholars Program that sends qualifying high school graduates to Hopkinsville Community College for two years tuition-free.
