Kentucky tallies ninth straight week of fewer new COVID cases

Kentucky has completed a ninth consecutive week of dropping numbers of new COVID-19 cases.

Sunday’s report from Governor Andy Beshear showed 445 new cases and 16 new deaths, bringing Kentucky’s death toll to 4,982 since the pandemic began.

Hospitalizations are down to 488, 118 patients are in the ICU with the virus and 69 are on a ventilator.

The governor also announced that by the end of Monday, 1 million Kentuckians will have been vaccinated.
