Flood watch remains in effect north of Christian County until 6 p.m. Saturday

Motorists traveling north and northwest of Hopkinsville this weekend will want to be alert for potential standing water as a flood watch remains in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday.

The watch includes Hopkins, Caldwell and counties to their north and west. The National Weather Service in Paducah says those areas will likely see about two inches of rain and isolated higher amounts, especially where storms train over the same area.

The threat for flooding increases the closer to the Ohio River that you go.

Lesser amounts of rain are expected in the Hopkinsville, Elkton and Cadiz areas.
