Kentucky’s unemployment rate dropped slightly from December to January.
The state’s January unemployment rate was 5.3 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.
That was down three tenths of a point from December and up 1.2 percentage points from the 4.1 percent recorded for the state one year ago.
The national jobless rate for January was 6.3 percent, down from the 6.7 percent reported in December, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
