Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles is hoping for another successful growing season in 2021 for the state’s farmers as he also advocates to the General Assembly for the priorities of his office.
Appearing Wednesday morning on WHOP, Quarles looked to the upcoming planting season and noted that 2020 was a good year for farming in much of Kentucky.
He also reminded motorists to use caution and to have patience around slow-moving farm equipment as the planting season ramps up.
Regarding the General Assembly, Commissioner Quarles says he needs lawmakers to provide his office with the funding it needs to properly function.
He’s also supporting legislation to help bring broadband internet access to the most rural areas of the state that often lack any access to high-speed internet connectivity.
Quarles also praised the new Ag. Expo Center at the Christian County Ag. Extension Office, saying it will benefit the community and local youth for years to come.
