A pair of Murray State football players were honored today by the Ohio Valley Conference.
Cornerback Marcus Floyd was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week. Floyd had six tackles and two interceptions in Sunday’s win over 16th ranked Southeast Missouri. Floyd returned his first interception 22 yards for a touchdown and the second one sealed the win for the Racers on the game’s final play.
Running back Damonta Witherspoon was named the OVC Newcomer of the Week. Witherspoon carried the ball 22 times for 108 yards in Sunday’s win over SEMO. The Racers are back in action Sunday at Tennessee Tech.
