CCPS COVID-19 cases significantly down heading into the end of the school year

Christian County Public Schools had two days of no active COVID-19 cases in the district this past week, and Superintendent Chris Bentzel says that gives them fuel as they head towards the end of the school year.

After having zero new active cases reported to start the week, they did gain one active COVID-19 in-person student case Tuesday, which resulted in two close contact quarantines—there are zero cases in the Virtual Learning Academy and among staff.  Superintendent Bentzel says they’re heading full steam towards spring break and are working hard to get students back on track and where they need to be educationally.

He says enrollment is open for the Virtual Learning Academy, which will have a ‘soft’ capacity limit of 600 in a post-pandemic plan that was approved by the board.

Plans are still underway for what in-person proms and graduation will look like, and Bentzel says they recently received guidance from the state on what safety guidelines will need to be in place.
