A pursuit of a vehicle by Hopkinsville police Thursday afternoon ended with the arrest of a man on Durrett Avenue.
Officers were looking to locate a man identified as Ronald Young regarding a terroristic threatening report and police say Young was observed opening the door to a red Dodge Charger.
When an officer approached the Charger, the driver—27-year old Victor Civils of Hopkinsville—spun tires and took off, nearly knocking Young out of the car as he tried to get inside.
Civils accelerated at a high rate of speed and made multiple turns before wrecking into an old tractor tire behind a home back on Durrett.
He fled on foot, but was soon caught and arrested for first-degree wanton endangerment, fleering or evading police, possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.
