Ky. adds 920 new COVID-19 cases, 22 deaths

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 920 new COVID-19 cases Friday, along with 22 new deaths.

According to a news release, the positivity rate continues to drop, now at 4.25 percent, with Governor Beshear saying Kentuckians should be very proud of their progress against this virus.  He says the past year has continually thrown curve balls at the people of the Commonwealth, from the pandemic to snow to flooding, and every time, Kentuckians prevail.

The number of individuals in the hospital due to COVID-19 is at 606, there are 179 in the ICU and 76 currently on a ventilator.  The 22 new deaths puts the death toll at 4,754.

Christian County is once again ‘yellow’ on the state incidence rate map, along with Todd and Trigg counties, while the surrounding counties remain ‘orange’ and ‘red’.

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 1,455 new cases, along with 33 new deaths, with the positivity rate in the Volunteer State now at 5.21 percent.
